Win Kdrama prizes from YA Entertainment, Drama Fever, and TransplantInformers

We are embarking on a maiden voyage into engaging pop culture with a series of posts unpacking the portrayals of transplantation and transfusion in Korean Dramas and related media. And you can win prizes from YA Entertainment and DramaFever by reading and participating!

We want to give fangirls and fanboys a cool new lens through which to view their favorite dramas and films. The goal? To help foster an informed viewing public, as well as generate more interest in the process of becoming a donor. And we want to reward a few lucky winners with Kdrama loot for giving us important feedback on viewership and transplant/transfusion donation.

We also aim to provide a fresh pop cultural perspective for donor outreach and education professionals to incorporate in their work.

It’s simple:

  • Each month we feature a post on a Kdrama (or related media)
  • You read it and learn more about transplantation/transfusion in your favorite shows or films
  • Participate in the short survey and you’re entered to win a prize*

For the uninformed, Hallyu, the mighty wave of [South] Korean pop culture, has gone far beyond the country’s borders, and its dramatic television has been at the forefront of these exports. This is a great opportunity to gain more insight into how transplantation and transfusion is depicted in a different cultural context.

If you’re in the know, and a fan, this series of posts will be a real treat. Not only do we have wonderful little giveaways courtesy of YA Enterntainment and DramaFever (DVD boxsets! Posters! T-shirts!) but it’s an opportunity for you to learn something new, and give us a piece of your mind to help improve health outreach practices globally. It’s your first step on the road to becoming a hero like Lee Min Ho‘s City Hunter. Or you’ve seen how the need for a liver transplant makes someone reflect differently on their life like Jung Woo Sung‘s character in Padam Padam. Perhaps  you’re struggling with what it means to become a donor like So Junggil in Smile, Honey. Maybe you just love Daniel Henney and can’t get enough of reading about his Three Rivers organ procurement exploits. In any case, this is the perfect chance to further feed your fandom fix, but you can also help make a difference in the process.

Keep it locked on TransplantInformers to get the latest on these monthly sweepstakes and your chance to win!

*Rules and Restrictions Apply: Only open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. One entry per person.
